Upper Iowa closes the season in Minnesota

November 9, 2006 By admin

The Upper Iowa football team closes out the season in the Metrodome Friday night against Northern Sun Conference leader Bemidji State. Something will have to give in this one which features an Upper Iowa offense that is top ranked in the conference against the league’s best defense.

Upper Iowa coach Mike Knoll says it will come down to taking care of the football. He says they’ve had a plus-one turnover ratio in each of the last couple of games. Knoll says they haven’t been good though on possession downs.

Knoll says convering on third down will be a key and they will need a solid performance out of quarterback Andrew Jones. Knoll says this is Jones’ last game and they want to send him out in the right way.
