A Charles City man accused of lying to federal investigators looking into last year’s death of a five-year-old Floyd County girl has agreed to change his plea. Twenty-seven-year-old Danny Slick was charged earlier this summer with making false statements to F-B-I investigators after allegedly lying to authorities on the whereabouts of his former roommate and other details after the death of Evelyn Miller in July 2005.

Slick originally pleaded not guilty to the charge with his trial slated to start on Monday, but U.S. District Judge John Jarvey has now scheduled a change of plea hearing for November 27th in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids. No other documents have been filed that provide further details of Slick’s change of plea. Slick has been detained by federal authorities since violating terms of his pre-trial release in August.
