Search underway for dog in Palo Alto County

November 17, 2006 By admin

Authorities in northern Palo Alto County are looking for a dog that bit a five-year-old girl in the town of Graettinger this (Friday) morning. Palo Alto County Sheriff Denny Getter says it happened at about eight a.m. near a schoolbus stop. The girl was bitten on the lip and needed nine stitches. The dog’s described as a large black lab with an orange or red collar.

The family’s been told the girl will have to start getting rabies shots in eight days if they can’t find the dog. They’re asking local people to call the Palo Alto County sheriff’s office if they see a dog matching the description.
