Alamo Bowl expects Hawk influx

November 23, 2006 By admin

University of Iowa officials do not expect Hawkeye fans to sit this one out. After four straight January bowl games in Florida, the Hawkeyes will play in the December 30th Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.

Despite a disappointing 6-6 regular season that included five straight Big Ten losses, coach Kirk Ferentz believes there will be plenty of Iowa fans at the game. Ferentz says how well the team fares in the game will depend upon which Hawkeye team shows up. According to Ferentz, they view the Alamo Bowl as a fresh start.

It will be Iowa’s fourth trip to the Alamo Bowl.
