Fisher Controls has chosen Marshalltown over two other cities as the site for a new $19 million research and development lab.

Fisher’s current Marshalltown facility will be expanded, retaining 42 jobs. Once the new facility is built — adjacent to their downtown headquarters — 15 more engineering jobs will be added.

Fisher made the decision after the Marshalltown City Council agreed to a five-year, $1.8 million tax rebate incentive. The Iowa Department of Economic Development also provided “enterprize zone” incentive funds.

The announcement of Fisher’s decision to build in Marshalltown came following last (Monday) night’s Marshalltown City Council meeting where the agreement was ratified by the Council.

Fisher has been in Marshalltown for over one hundred years. They manufacture various valves for all types of industries.
