Drake looks to build on win at I-S-U

December 7, 2006 By admin

Drake basketball coach Tom Davis wants to see his team build some momentum. The Bulldogs are 3-2 after a victory at Iowa State and will host their own tournament this weekend.

Davis says it’s critical that they play on that I-S-U win and get better and not just be happy to get a good win on the road. Davis says they have to keep improving and he hopes the players understand that.

The Bulldogs open the tournament Friday night against a Troy, a team they lost to in the third place game at a tournament in Alaska. Davis says the Bulldogs have made strides since the opening weekend of the season.

Davis says in Alaska they didn’t play with a lot of poise and didn’t respond well when bad things happened. Davis says the team responded much better against Iowa State. Northern Illinois and Georgia Southern are also in the field.
