Another child has died after a northeast Iowa crash Tuesday night. The state patrol says a car crossed the center line of the roadway that was 100-percent ice covered and hit head-on with a semi in Chickasaw County about three miles north of New Hampton. A van behind the semi then hit the car as it sat on the roadway after the first collision.

Two-year-old Wesley Williams died at a local hospital later that day, and now his sister, three-year-old Raven has died of her injuries from the crash. An 11-month-old sibling and the children’s mother survived the crash but were also injured, and their aunt, the 19-year-old driver of the car, is in critical condition.

The driver of the van was treated and released and the semi driver apparently escaped injury in the crash.
