Ben Conrad’s rebuilding efforts at Upper Iowa are beginning to show. After an injury plagued first season at the helm the Peacocks have nearly equaled last year’s win total already. They are 5-3 overall after an overtime loss to Winona State on Saturday.

Conrad says they still aren’t very deep in the post and have a long way to go and still need another class to build some depth. Conrad there is really no secret as to why they are winning more this season. They have better players. He says this is the 12th team he’s been a part of and he says it’s undisputable that when you have good players you’re a better team.

Conrad says you need mature kids who can make plays, along with chemistry. He says they need to gain more experience right now, and says they have managed to win some games without the chemistry established yet. Upper Iowa returns to action at home Wednesday night against Wisconsin-Parkside.
