I-S-U faces big task in third-ranked O-S-U

December 19, 2006 By admin

Iowa State has a difficult chore tonight when the Cyclones visit third rated Ohio State. I-S-U coach Greg McDermott says Ohio State is where his team wants to be some day, and playing them will tell the team how far they have to go. The Cyclones are 7-4 after falling to Bradley in Des Moines.

The Buckeyes have established themselves as one of the nation’s best teams. Seven foot Freshman Greg Oden has shown why he was considered the top high school player in the country. After missing the first month following off-season surgery Oden is averaging just over 14 points and eight and a half rebounds in three games.

McDermott says Oden is a very talented player who will challenge the Panther’s big men. McDermott says Oden will be a challenge for some in the N-B-A next year. The Buckeyes are 9-1.
