A Central City man got a trip to jail for Christmas. A Linn County sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over an A-T-V last Christmas morning in Central City. The A-T-V driver, 22-year-old James Dean Hoffman of Central City failed to stop and led the deputy on a chase through several blocks of the city.

Hoffman’s A-T-V became hung up on a railroad bridge and tracks. The sheriff’s deputy placed Hoffman into custody and Hoffman has been charged with attempting to elude, interference with officials acts, driving while barred, possession of a controlled substance and numerous traffic violations. Hoffman is being held at the Linn County Corrections Center.
