It has been a banner year for the Missouri Valley Conference and the league race begins Wednesday night in the McCleod Center when U-N-I hosts Bradley. Off to their second best start in school history the Panthers are 9-2 and will be looking to earn a fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament against a tough league slate.
U-N-I coach Ben Jacobson says he told his team to feel good about being 9-2 and the hard work it took to get there. But, he says they now have to get ready for a hard road ahead.
Jacobson likes where his team is at, as he says they’ve had to play well to get to 9-2. He says the defense had to hold them up at Bucknell and at Iowa.
After making it to the Sweet-16 last season the Braves are 9-3 and both of these teams have been shooting well from three point range. The Panthers have made 30 shots from behind the arc in their last two home games.
