UNI downs Evansville to go to 3-0

January 4, 2007 By admin

UNI held on to down Evansville 64-61 in Missouri Valley Conference action. Elwin Huffman reports. The Panthers built a 15 point lead, but saw that lead disappear in the second half after their big men Grant Stout and Eric Coleman got in foul trouble.

Evansville went on a 13 to 1 run in the next five and half minutes to cut the lead to 53-50. The lead fell to two, but that was as close as the Purple Aces got. Stout led all scorers with 17 points and become the 29th UNI player to reach one thousand points. Stout also had 10 rebounds.

UNI is now 12-2 overall and 3-0 in the Missouri Valley.
