Two die, three injured in Northwest Iowa crash

A three-vehicle crash near Hull in northwest Iowa on Sunday afternoon left two people dead and three injured. Those killed are: 20-year-old Raymond Todd Katka of Rock Rapids and a passenger in the vehicle he was driving, four-month-old Cody Holtrop of Sheldon. Two other passengers in that vehicle were hurt.

Twenty-one-year-old Ashley Holtrop of Sheldon and two-year-old Kylie Katka were taken to a Sioux City hospital. The drivers of the other vehicles were: 24-year-old John Geerdes of Sioux Falls and 42-year-old Paul Ring of Rock Rapids. Geerdes wasn’t hurt. Ring was taken to the Rock Valley hospital. The accident is still under investigation by the Sioux County Sheriff and the State Patrol.
