Man charged with stealing police cruiser

January 16, 2007 By admin

A man accused of taking off in a Council Bluffs police cruiser is in jail today. After an officer found the man walking on a bridge and gave him a ride across to Omaha Saturday night, he found himself locked out as the man drove off in his squad car. They found the cruiser Sunday, abandoned in Omaha.

Monday right around midnight police got a call that a naked man was running around in the snow, and the officer who arrived says the man tried to open the door of his cruiser, saying "I’m the one who took your car." The man wouldn’t stand still or cooperate and after using pepper-spray and a taser with no effect, several cops tackled him and took him to a Council Bluffs hospital…and from there to jail.

Thirty-five-year-old Carlo Partee of Omaha is charged with public exposure and interference with a peace officer.
