Body in Scott County identified

January 17, 2007 By admin

Authorities in Scott County say they know the identity of a body found west of the Quad cities over the weekend. They’re not going to tell us, despite results from an autopsy done on human remains found in a farmer’s field. The property owner told reporters he spotted what looked like a woman’s body, in a burned area in a field that made him think someone tried to get rid of the evidence.

But investigators with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department, who said from the start they were handling it as a homicide, aren’t going to give out many details, saying only that she was a local woman, and was not married. They have a suspect to find and say so far there are "people of interest" but nobody they’ve charged.
