Cyclones on the road against Colorado

January 17, 2007 By admin

The Iowa State Cyclones are on the road in the Big-12 when they visit Colorado. The Cyclones are 2-1 in the league race after taking Kansas to overtime and visit a Buffalo squad that has struggled to an 0-3 start in league play.

ISU coach Greg McDermott says they can’t just show up and think they can beat any team, let alone a Big 12 team on the road. McDermott says their performance against Kansas means nothing in this game. He says they can’t think since they played well against Kansas and took them to overtime, that will doe anything to help them in Boulder.

Colorado coach Ricardo Patton says the Cyclones are difficult to prepare for. Patton says when you look at what they did against Kansas, they play hard and have guys who make plays. Patton says the Cyclones run a lot of sets and that makes it difficult to prepare.

Patton says the Cyclones have adjusted quickly to McDermott’s style of play. Patton says McDermott is a good coach who has his team believing in his system. Iowa State is 11-6 overall. Colorado is 4-9.Boulder has been tough on the Cyclones who have won just twice in their last ten visits.
