One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 35 north of Ames around 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon, a wreck state troopers blame on slippery road conditions. Fifty-year-old Manuela DeCosta Erickson of Story City reportedly lost control of her Jeep, crossed the median and hit a pickup head-on, killing DeCosta Erickson.
Two men in the truck were injured: the driver, 26-year-old Christoper Grosz and the passenger, 30-year-old Christopher Dietz, both of Ames.
