Fort Dodge man’s murder trial underway

January 23, 2007 By admin

Jury selection is underway in Buena Vista County District Court in Storm Lake in the murder trial of a Fort Dodge man. Thirty-six year-old Sessions Harper is accused of assaulting 22-year-old Holly Michael and torching her Fort Dodge home in January of last year while she was still inside. She later died of her injuries.

Harper is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree arson and third-degree sexual abuse. Harper’s trial was moved from Webster County to Storm Lake because of pre-trial publicity. Jury selection is expected to take several days.
