Elkader boy wins trip to Super Bowl

January 25, 2007 By admin

Eating a good breakfast has paid off for an Elkader boy. Ten-year-old Trace Engelhardt, at student at Central Community School in Elkader, has won his family a trip to the SuperBowl on February 4th. Engelhardt was the grand prize winner in a promotion funded by dairy farmers. The National Dairy Council and National Football League recognized Engelhardt as being a "Super Role Model" for his healthy eating habits.

Engelhardt recorded what he ate and drank for breakfast for five days and submitted the information to the sweepstakes website. Along with his trip to the SuperBowl, his school will also have a special assembly in his honor and celebrate the importance of breakfast for student performance this Friday at 10 A.M. Each student at Central Community School will also receive strawberry milk provided by Swiss Valley Farms.
