Drake women win, UNI loses

January 26, 2007 By admin

The Drake women are on the board in the Missouri Valley Conference. Brandy Dair scored 29 points as the Bulldogs snapped an eight game winning streak with a 69-61 victory over Wichita State.

Lindsey Whorton had a big night with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Whorton says it was great to get the win and great to come back from a slow start. Whorton on the post game show on KRNT says it was a goal to hold them to 61 and they had to play hard to do that.

UNI lost to valley leader Illinois State 6-58 in Cedar Falls. The Panthers had their chances in the final seconds as Tara King missed a game tying jumper and Nicole Clausen missed a three point attempt with two seconds remaining.
