Search on for driver in fatal hit-and-run crash

January 29, 2007 By admin

One of the drivers in a deadly weekend crash ran from the scene and is still missing. Authorities are searching for the driver of a van that was involved in a fatal accident early Sunday morning on Highway 63 in Tama County.

Troopers say the Jeep Wrangler driven by 63-year-old Keith Beyer of Hudson was northbound when a Dodge Caravan crossed the center line and struck the Jeep, sending both vehicles into the ditch. The van driver ran from the scene and has not been identified. A passenger in the Jeep, 60-year-old Donna Beyer, was killed. Keith Beyer was taken to a Waterloo hospital for treatment.
