Iowa Senator Tom Harkin says people shouldn’t be too hard on fellow Democrat Senator Joe Biden over statements Biden made about Barrack Obama. Biden described Obama, a rival in the race for the democratic presidential nomination as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.’

Harkin says he thinks Biden realizes what he said was "very unwise." Harkin says hopefully now that Biden has recognized that, he can move on to talk about the issues. Harkin says Biden has done what he should have after realizing his mistake.

Harkin says: "It was an unfortunate comment, but that’s alright. I mean, you know, we’re all human, we all make mistakes, a slip of the tongues. But he apologized for it, so move on, don’t make a book deal of it." Biden, represents Delaware in the Senate and Obama represents Illinois.
