A second half comeback lifted the Iowa Hawkeyes to their first road victory of the season. Trailing Michigan 48-37 with 13 and a half minutes left the Hawks rallied for a 69-62 win. As they have done several times on the road the Hawkeyes got off to a bad start and trailed by 11 at the half.

Iowa coach Steve Alford says there was very little adjustment, it was all the players. He says the players came out and played hard and got the job done. Tyler Smith had 18 of his team high 22 points in the second half. Adam Haluska added 17 and sophomore guard Tony Freeman had a big night off the bench. Alford says he thought Freeman grew up a lot and hopes he continues this type of play.

Iowa is now 4-4 in the Big Ten and 12-10 overall.
