Iowa State can’t handle the Aggies

February 1, 2007 By admin

Iowa State found out that Texas [email protected] is as good as advertised. The Aggies took control at the outset and blasted the Cyclones 73-49, I-S-U’s fifth straight loss.

Iowa State coach Greg McDermott says the Aggies did some things they knew were coming, but couldn’t stop. He says his team was sloppy with the ball offensively. McDermott did not start guard Mike Taylor after he and reserve guard Dodie Dunson missed the bus for a morning shoot-a-round. The Aggies jumped out to an 11-0 lead and forced the Cyclones into 21 turnovers.

McDermott says Texas A&M has a great basketball team that has the ability to go a long way in the NCAA tournament. McDermott says he’s not sure his team’s best effort would have been good enough tonight.

The Cyclones are 2-5 in the Big-12 and 11-10 overall.
