Bundle up, Iowa. Most of the state’s northern and western counties are under a wind-chill advisory, and the deep freeze is likely to last for several days. One of the coldest weekends in years is in store for Iowa this weekend. Forecasters say overnight lows in parts of northern Iowa could plummet to as low as 20-below-zero by Monday morning.

Wind-chill levels statewide could reach 30-below during the day this weekend, with actual daytime highs struggling to get above zero. The deep-freeze is expected to last through at least the middle of next week. Daytime highs are finally forecast to get back above 20-degrees in most locations on Wednesday.
