Teenager killed in Montgomery County accident

February 5, 2007 By admin

A southwest Iowa teenager was killed in a single-vehicle weekend accident in Montgomery County. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, 15-year-old Cody Davidson, of rural Stanton, died instantly when the 1996 Pontiac Grand Am he was a passenger in, went out of control as it approached a bridge, traveled across a creek and slammed into an embankment.

The driver of the car, 16-year-old Tyler Jones, of Stanton, was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The crash occurred on 220th Street, one-quarter mile West of Stanton, just before noon Saturday. An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Iowa State Patrol.
