Man hit by train in Southwest Iowa

A man was reportedly hit by a train in southwest Iowa early today and survived. Elkhorn Fire and Rescue personnel are investigating an accident where a pedestrian was hit by a train.

He was airlifted to an Omaha hospital but his condition is not known. It happened around six o’clock this morning when a man was walking along the tracks and was hit by a Union Pacific cargo train. As to why the man was on the tracks, it’s still unknown.
