Pottawattamie Assistant County Attorney fired

February 7, 2007 By admin

A Pottawattamie County Assistant County Attorney has been fired. Assistant County Attorney Jeff Tekippe had been on paid leave since February 1st as a result of an investigation that showed some "irregularities" regarding the handling of evidence in several cases. Tekippe was fired Tuesday. The mishandling of evidence relates to a drug case.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is now handling the matter. Charges at a felony level are possible. DCI is conducting interviews and reviewing court records. No comment from the Pottawattamie County Attorney’s office.
