UNI looks for Bracket Buster boost

February 16, 2007 By admin

UNI visits Nevada as part of the Bracket Busters. Panther coach Ben Jacobson says it gives a number of teams a chance to show they belong in the tournament. UNI’s at large chances have all but vanished. They have lost seven of eight.

Jacobsen says it has been a great event and says last year’s game against Bucknell gave them a boost and probably allowed them to make the NCAA tournament.

Jacobson says it is a tough matchup for the Panthers against a Nevada team that is ranked tenth. He says it’s a huge challenge, but also an opportunity to make a statement late in the year. UNI is 7-9 in the Valley and 16-11 overall.
