A one-vehicle accident in Hamilton County on Saturday morning killed a Sumner girl. The victim is identified as 10-year-old Reegan Robertson. Robertson was a passenger in a Chevrolet Suburban owned by the Sumner School District and driven by 34-year-old Taunya Robertson of Sumner.

The vehicle was heading southbound on Interstate 35 when it lost control entering the south ditch rolling a number of times. There were a total of nine inside the vehicle as it was making its way to a school related function.

Reegan Robertson was taken to Mary Greeley Medial Center in Ames by the Jewell Ambulance and later died of her injuries. The driver escaped injury and the remaining passengers either not injured or complained of minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
