Teen dies in Webster County accident

A weekend crash in Webster County killed a teenager. A 17-year-old Sommers girl died Saturday night just before ten and a Gowrie motorist recieved injuries as the result of a two car accident three miles west of Fort Dodge on county road D-20. The Iowa State Patrol identified the fatality as Jessica Schmehr of Sommers.

Reportedly the car operated by Schmehr was traveling westbound on D-20 when it lost control on the ice covered roadway,crossing the center line hitting an eastbound car driven by 23-year-old Kody Dodge of Gowrie head on. Schmehr was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident Saturday night. Dodge was taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge for treatment of his injuries.
