Voters in 13 counties to decide on NICC bond issue

February 20, 2007 By admin

Voters in northeast Iowa are going to the polls today to decide on a 35 million dollar bond issue for Northeast Iowa Community College. If approved the money would be used to renovate NICC campuses in Calmar and Peosta.

The school also has offices in Dubuque, Oelwein, Manchester, Cresco and New Hampton. Some of the facilities in Calmar and Peosta are over 30 years old. The counties involved are: Fayette, Allamakee, Bremer, Buchanan, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, Jones, Howard, Jackson, Mitchell and Winneshiek. Polls are open from noon to eight p-m and the issue needs 60-percent approval to pass.
