Iowa women on the road at Purdue

February 22, 2007 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeye women are on the road in the Big Ten to take on Purdue. The Hawks are 5-9 in the league race after beating Penn State at home last Sunday. It marked the return of center Megan Skouby who had been sidelined with a broken hand.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says it was an emotional lift for the team to have someone else to help out. And she says Skouby is their tallest player. Skouby is playing with a soft cast, which Bluder says will make it hard for her to catch a bad pass. Otherwise, she says it’s a mental thing that Skouby has to get over.

Iowa is 13-14 overall. Purdue is 12-2 in the Big Ten and 23-5 overall.
