Interstate highways open

Moments before noon today, the IowaDepartment of Transportation announced all Interstate highways in Iowaare open to traffic.  Due to the winter storm which blew into the statethis week, Interstate-29 had been closed from the Missouri border toSouth Dakota and Interstate-80 had been closed from just west of DesMoines to Council Bluffs.  Authorities re-opened Interstate-35 lastnight.  According to a statement from DOT officials, road crews aremaking progress in snow removal and more highways may be reopened yettoday.
