Storms hit the headlines this week, leaving 250,000 Iowans in a winter "wonder-land" of cold, dark electric outages. While caseworkers and Guard soldiers went searching for any forgotten victims of the blizzards, plow operators were pulled off the stormy roads and strangers bunked together in motels. Iowans also offered an 80-million dollar toast for federal funds for ethanol, and a spanking for a casino that’s not quick enough to expand.
