March 12, 2007 By admin

A weekend accident in western Iowa’s Pottawattamie County claimed the life of a Council Bluffs man. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 46-year-old Dennis James Summer died when he was ejected from his 1999 Jeep Cherokee, after the SUV left the road and rolled in the median.

The accident happened on southbound Interstate-29 near Honey Creek, at around four A.M. Sunday. Summer was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Ankeny, for autopsy. A passenger in the Jeep, 35-year-old Hank Lee Donner, also of Council Bluffs, was injured, and airlifted to a hospital in Omaha. The accident remains under investigation.
