Lin-Mar downs Urbandale in 4A semifinal

March 16, 2007 By admin

Grant Gibbs and Jordan Printy combined to score 38 of Linn-Mar’s 55 points as the top ranked Lions beat number four Urbandale 55-32 in a class 4A semifinal.

Linn-Mar coach Chris Robertson says he thought his team did a good job mixing up the defenses and controlling Urbandale’s senior leading scorer Ethan Freeman. "Freeman is a load in there…he’s a fantastic player, "Robertson says.

The Lion’s advance to the title game for the third time in four years. Robertson says the players set the goal at the start of the season not just to get to state, but to win it.

Urbandale shot only 32 percent but coach Brad Bjorkgren says 19 turnovers were the J-Hawks undoing. Bjorkgren says that’s not typical of his team, and that was a struggle to overcome. Freeman led the Jayhawks with nine points.
