West Okoboji mayor injured in crash

The mayor of West Okoboji was badly hurt when the school bus he was driving was involved in a weekend crash. The school bus and pickup collision occurred on Saturday at the intersections of County roads A-34 and M-27 near Milford. Two people were injured in the mishap.

The 1995 Ford F-150 pulling a trailer driven by Tyler Tessus, of Everly, collided with a school bus driven by Howard Titterington of Milford, the mayor of West Okoboji.

Both drivers were transported to the Spencer Hospital, Tessum by private vehicle with minor injuries. Titterington was transported by ambulance with more serious injuries. The accident is under investigation. Charges are pending.
