Council Bluffs casino ponders expansion

March 22, 2007 By admin

A new look may be in the works for the Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs. Officials with the casino are considering a few options that would expand the gaming space, restaurants and other areas. They could be playing a game of keeping up with the Joneses.

The Horseshoe Casino, formerly known as Bluffs Run, underwent an 84-million dollar update and expansion last year. Out of the three casinos in the city, the Horseshoe tops them all in gaming receipts. The three casinos in Council Bluffs posted about a third of the state’s gross gaming receipts for the current fiscal year.
