Former Harlan police officer charged with abuse

March 22, 2007 By admin

A former Harlan police officer is charged with domestic abuse. Officials say 29-year old Aaron D. Holtz is accused of kicking his wife Amber, in the head. The incident allegedly occurred during the early morning hours on March 13th. The police report indicates Amber Holtz was apparently digging in the couch looking for the remote control when her husband tried to kick the covers back over his feet and struck her in the head. Holtz said he didn’t mean to kick his wife and that it was an accident.

The report said there were no visible signs of injury, but Holtz was taken into custody after his wife decided to press charges. He was booked into the Shelby County Jail and charged with domestic abuse/assault, a simple misdemeanor which carries a maximum fine of 100-dollars or 30 days in jail.
