The University of Iowa baseball team swept four games from North Dakota this weekend to up their record to 9-5. Hawkeye coach Jack Dahm says they have one more game before opening Big Ten play this week. Iowa goes to Illinois State Wednesday, before heading to Columbus to play Ohio State. Dahm says they have not played Ohio State in the time he’s been here, and he expects it to be a great challenge. Dahm expects conference play to be tough all the way through.

Dahm says the Big Ten has had a great early season, and Ohio State is picked by most polls to be the top team, followed by Michigan and Minnesota. Dahm says he wants his team to compete for the title. Dahm says their goals are to qualify for the Big Ten Tournament, then win the tournament and get a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Dahm says he thinks his team has a chance to compete for a top spot in the conference. Iowa plays a single game at Illinois State Wednesday, before opening a four-game series with the Buckeyes on Friday.
