Iowa’s unemployment in February dipped to 3.3 percent.  The January rate was 3.4 percent, a year ago Iowa’s jobless figure was 3.9 percent in February.

Over the year, state labor market analyst Ann Wagner says the decrease has totaled 10,000 people off the rolls of the unemployed, leaving the jobless total at 54, 800 people in February.

Nonfarm jobs in the state hit another record: 1, 518, 600 during February. That’s up 5100 from January, and up 18,600 from the same month a year ago.

The jobless rate last month fell to its pre-9/11 level for the first time in January and inched below that mark in this latest report.
