The season opener is still a few weeks away but the Iowa Speedway has been a busy place as of late. General manager Craig Armstrong says the facility has been opened for testing. He says a tire company was testing Monday and wanted several teams to try their tires on the track to get some numbers for a future race.

Armstrong says testing can provide race teams vital information that will help them down the road. He says it gives them baseline information on chassis setup, tire inflation and other things they need to set up the car for competition.

Armstrong says the track is opened for teams that will race at the Iowa Speedway and even those who won’t. He says they’re happy to have anyone who wants to test to do so. Armstrong says many says the unique nature of the racetrack mimics other tracks, and gives them information that can use for other tracks. The opening event at the track is April 21st.
