The registration deadline is approaching for the annual Hoopin’ at the Dome basketball tournament in Des Moines. Sponsored by the Iowa Games , the tournament offers three-on-three competition and is held in a parking lot next to the Iowa State Capitol.
Iowa Games executive director Jim Hallihan says it’s around the 12th year for this tournament. He says they hope to get over 100 teams from 4th grade through high school They also have a co-ed division, a six foot and under division.
The postmark deadline is April 20th and the on-line deadline is April 25th. Hallihan says while the tournament is in Des Moines it typically draws teams from across the state. He says this is a unique time of year where there is not a lot going on and this gives basketball players something to do.
Awards will be given to the first and second place teams in each division.
