An Elk Run Heights firefighter has been given a deferred judgment for allegedly fighting with an off-duty Waterloo police officer. Firefighter Craig Schellhorn entered and Alford Plea for the July 14th incident.

An Alford Plea means you don’t admit guilt, but believe if the case would go to trial, you would be found guilty. Schellhorn received a deferred judgment, a fine of 65 dollars and one year probation. Schellhorn and Waterloo police officer Robert Michael were allegedly engaged in violent behavior at Lost Island Adventure Park in Waterloo.

An attorney from Dubuque County was brought in to prosecute the case to avoid a conflict of interest.
