Northeast Iowa man sentenced to 15 years in girfriend’s death

April 17, 2007 By admin

A northeast Iowa man will spend 15 years in prison for the assault and death of his girlfriend. Edward Neessen of Grundy Center was sentenced yesterday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of willful injury. Court records indicate Cinda Larue, also of Grundy Center, died three days after being hit and pushed by Neessen.

According to the autopsy report, Larue’s death last December was the result of health complications triggered by the assault. Neessen initially was charged with first-degree murder, but pled guilty to the lesser charges in an agreement with prosecutors.
