A Des Moines man is accused of killing his live-in girlfriend. Family members reported 37-year-old Gabriela Perez-Ramirez missing on Friday, and after a search, her body was found Saturday afternoon in some woods in Des Moines. She’d been beaten and stabbed though a cause of death has not been released.

Police charged the victim’s boyfriend, 25-year-old Isaac Martinez-Zepada, with first-degree murder. The couple worked together as janitors and police say a physical altercation broke out last Thursday while they were cleaning a West Des Moines office building and Perez-Ramirez was killed. Martinez-Zepada then allegedly drove the body to the wooded area where it was found. He’s being held in Dallas County as that’s where the murder took place.
