Law enforcement agencies in southeast Iowa are on the lookout for a 32-year-old man who escaped from the Monroe County jail in Albia. Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies say James henry Davis escaped overnight by removing a window air conditioner. He tied bedsheets together to get down to an exercise yard, then climbed the fence. Davis was being held on burglary and theft charges.

Deputies are also investigating the theft of a pickup that may be connected to his escape, a white 1994 Ford that was stolen this morning. Davis is five-six, 140 pounds, white with brown hair, mustache and beard.
