Two people shot in Council Bluffs

April 25, 2007 By admin

Two people were shot early this morning in a robbery attempt on a Council Bluffs street. Police report 22-year-old Jennifer Brokman and 32-year-old Ian Caldwell were walking on the street when three men approached them and demanded money. One of the men fired at least two rounds from a handgun, striking both Brokman and Caldwell once in the chest.

The couple was taken to a local hospital, where Brokman was treated and released, and Caldwell was in intensive care, but expected to recover from his injuries. The victims were from the Omaha and Council Bluffs areas. Authorities arrested 18-year-olds James Hamilton and Thomas Kerns of Omaha in connection with the shooting. The men were charged with two counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon.
