Dexter Apache Holding strike in Fairfield ends

April 27, 2007 By admin

Striking workers at a southeast Iowa factory are heading back to work. A deal has been made between workers at a commercial laundry manufacturing plant in Fairfield and the company ending a near-two-week strike.

Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Union, Local 1293 at the Dexter Apache Holding plant went on strike April 14 after contract negotiations regarding insurance rates and pay stalled. Over 200 were affected in the strike and union members signed the new contract Thursday. Many headed back to work for the third shift last night, and others will return today and Monday.
